  5. Hey guys, we’ve been following your route so far with interest!. Bet it was nice to catch up with family again! How are the bikes performing and are the seats you chose comfortable?! Hopefully you are not to saddle sore!! I imagine the roads will become more challenging as you go east, so keep us posted!. Anne you mention the positioning of the handle bars has made riding so much easier, is this still the case, even after a long days ride? Look after yourselves and enjoy the adventure!!. Lots of love from all of us in Verwood xxxx
    P.S Like the pics!!

    • Hi Tansy. Yes it was lovely to see family on our trip. And yes we have no illusion about the roads as we head further east!!! So far, they have been brilliant. The bike seats are ok but no more – we just kept what the bikes came with. I thought my in-built padding would be sufficient and I had given Anthony my original seat which was the comfort seat!! Well, we could both do with plusher!! Anyway, good excuse to stop more often. My Rox risers are absolutely brilliant!!! So glad I decided on these. Another blog entry will follow with more info. Xxxx

Lots of love to you both, from all of us in Verwood!! xxxx

    • Oops, forgot to respond to this message. Yes, it’s been lovely having more time. But we still feel like we could do with much more time. We’ll just have to come back and visit specific places one day… Glad you’re enjoying the photos and Anthony’s videos. Xxx

  7. It was reassuring to hear you only took 3 hours with the Indian visa form – I have to tangle with it just to pass through and the sheer beaurocracy of it is numbing – but perhaps it’s their way of saying they’re full. Maybe Mr Cameron should introduce something like it here but I’d want him to leave first. Brian

    • Ha, that was 3 hours yesterday to get to a certain point, hoping we could complete them on the iPad on the road. Luckily, we had to stay another day to get over the food poisonning, so I was able to spend another 3 hours to complete it and get an appointment in Tashkent! So 6 hours in total!!! But the main reason is not only was I dealing with a bad online form, but we have very poor internet here. When Anthony told the Russian visa processing agency that the visa process made us feel that Russia didn’t want visitors, the lovely lady very nicely responded that he had no idea what loops they had to go through to get into the UK… Anne

  8. Good photos, video on bike through tunnel a little bit hairy, wouldn’t want to breakdown. See u have made a lot of new friends and enjoyed local cooking but as u say the digestive system is still in a state of shock and making its complaint be known. Keep the reports coming in.

  18. Lovely to meet you both and swap unesco stories. My unesco blog you already know, the rest of my photos are on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/juliac2006/albums < via this link you'll find my photo diaries, unesco, libraries and lots of travel albums. I envy you Namibia – we had a wonderful time exploring the northern circuit, and do plan to return and explore the south. We also visited Botswana 10 year ago – absolutely amazing for wildlife, but pre-flickr for us. Still using film back then and haven't scanned in photos. We went to Savuti, Chobe and Moremi though – I'm sure you will have a fascinating experience.

    • Hi Almaz. It was lovely meeting you this morning. Thank you again for your help today. We decided it was too close to our departure to take the risk of completely recovering the seats – trying a different alternative now – will see how it works!! All the best! Anne & Anthony
